Controlling Grasshopper from iPod Touch 2

As the title says...OSC connection from iPod Touch to Grasshopper (via Processing). While Processing is probably not needed, it served the purpose of showing the action on the iPod on the screencapture. More to come!

Very neat - reminds me of Ableton's Novation Launchpad :-

It'd be great to mix a complex design in real-time once latency issues are resolved.

The only limitation is how you format that data to be received by gh

That's fantastic Luis!-
Can you use processing to get an input from the web in the same kind of way?like those Java or processing sketches?

Thanks Andy ... I will eventually do some live action video. Now to the jumpiness. My machine is probably 5 years old...the less overhead, the better. So yes, running processing will slow things down. The 50ms limit I think is somehow ok...imagine huge definition refreshing every 50 ms... that equals 0 functionality. For light defs it would be fine to go faster than 50ms I suppose.

Congrats Luis. Very cool. I wonder if you could do a triple-split screen... showing the ipod gestural movements, the processing interface, and then the GH/Rhino interface. BTW, I noticed it was a little jumpy... do you think if it was making a direct connection from the ipod to GH (skipping the processing part) that it would be much smoother? Also... and this is more a question for David... any chance you'll lift the 50 millisecond limit on the timer? I know 50 is pretty fast, but streaming data over a port or from an external source could be that much more interactive... Congrats again. I'd love to see a tutorial on how it is set up.

Respect mate. Keep up connecting things!

Thanks! I think David has ideas we cannot even imagine! He made decisions which opened up GH to these kinds of things...not just conceptually, but the things he has implemented with the scripting components, etc. It would be interesting to know what sorts of things do surprise him about how people use his GH.

that is amazing. Do you think David ever had an idea of how far you guys would push Grasshopper?
