Mesghali Studio Grasshopper Master Tools . Volume 01

I've created a running Grasshopper Definition that i feel can be useful to people using the plug-in and Rhino in general for professional work in retail environments, furniture / carpentry and general fabrication.

I will add updated versions as I build more tools in my practice and organize the file as feedback comes in. Feel free to reach out if you have an issue using them or need further explanation.

There are three main functions in the toolkit for now:

Fabrication modeling for cladding panels of double curved exoskeleton structure

Our team is wrapping up fabrication modeling for cladding panels of a double curved exoskeleton structure of a large hotel/casino in Asia.

The entire model was generated by Grasshopper using our in-house developed "Elefront" plugin.

We have modeled roughly 24.000 unique panels including sub-framing, brackets, fasteners, joint covers etc.

Fabrication documentation went straight from the…

gPlanks

For a workshop at Muenster School of Architecture I put together a Python component that lays linear strips on any mesh, following the "plank path" on a a given start point and direction. This simulates the behavior of a strip of flexible but sheer resistant material like paper or plywood.

A mechanical representation of the algorithm was 3d…
