Hi everybody,

is it possible to obtain a surface like the one attached with mesh components in Grasshopper?

thank you

yes. Make sure you grab all the extra goodies to work on meshes...Weaverbird and Mesh Tools...
Thank you Luis.

do you know some tutorial or examples?
Yes, do you know some examples to do things like this one - I really want to do something like "laticce" (shape of the net).
Ive got some examples of meshing workflow on my blog, particularly in the production of nice smooth space frames. Link here: http://ledatomica.wordpress.com

They are not rendered shiny, but they are smooth...
but how to do this? just unite "tubes" and then smooth them?
a great work Luis, really!

My aim is to made something like the new example attached:

1. to start from a set of points (input)
2. generate a mesh (Delaunay?)
3. create a smooth-closed mesh along the edges (Catmull Clark?)

I need some clarification about the steps, and in particular about the creation of smooth - closed meshes along the mesh edges.

Thanks everybody

good luck..

Hey Davide,

one way to go about this:

go to Luis' web site, LAN, and see how he did it there.

get the weaver bird plugin, one of the keys is to use the mesh settings.

good luck!
Hello,
The important thing is the solid geometry. Start from a closed solid...very low resolution, then start subdividing.

I am attaching a very simple example.

Here on our site there is a post about Shelling. It might not work on all polysurfaces.

Hi guys,

thank you so much for the support. Now everythingh is clear.

I hope to show you some example as soon as possible to evaluate my progress.

thanx again
