Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi I am trying to put a point on a surface that i have splitted in rhino. I am using 'surface eval' and an 'MD slider' plugged into 'u v' to generate the location of the point.

I've reparameterized the surface as you do but since it is a surface that has been split (with one part deleted) the surface eval is covering the whole thing (deleted and undeleted).

Is there away to reparameterize it so it only covers the new surface, and not the deleted surface aswell?

Thank You

p.s here is a picture of the problem

use the rhino command "rebuild" with retrim checked. I think theres even a retrim component

Hey thanks for the quick reply.

I tried exactly that. Still no success, it still covers the deleted surface.

I have the same problem, but I'm totally working in grasshopper. No solution?

The result of a Split Surface operation will generally be the same surface with new trim curves.

Rhino 5 can shrink the Surface area to match the trim but the trims exactly matching the border of a NURBS Surface with the exact curvature inside is more of a special case.

For a planar Surface with 4 edges, you can try to rebuild the Surface with an EdgeSrf. Other than that, you can only test the UVs for TrimInclusion, not Limit them to the boundaries.
