Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello All
I am novice in grasshopper. I am looking for a solution to uniform distribution objects on arbitrary surface(terrain for example). It mean distance between each two neighboring should be equal (approximately, in some range)

Are you familiar with the concept of circle packing?

I understand that it is close to my question. I read this (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/circle-packingflow-along?...) discussion and a few others. But I have not found a solution for an arbitrary shape. I do not need much accuracy in the contact between  circles on the surface. Enough that would be the distance between the objectswas approximately the same

do you mean direct distance or on the surface?

i mean distance on the surface. but in this case it  almost the same because i will use  very smooth terrain

any particular pattern you're looking for? squares/triangles/hexagons?

Any. squares first

I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ87Rn5WLo8&feature=related .here you can see sheme but only as picture http://sac3.blogspot.com/2008/08/grasshopper-sections.htmlI have no enough experience to remake this

or maybe someone know a tool to change mesh topology making the distance between neighboring points uniform?

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Basically you need to make a Bounding Box around the object, divide the target surface into Surface Boxes, then distribute the object in the Bounding Box to the Surface Boxes.

Unfortunately this is absolutely not what I need. my problem - the Uniform distribution of objects or points on the surface. distance between each two neighboring should be equalbut if I deform surface in your case, the distance between the points will be very different (A1-B1,A2-B2)

as i understand the problem is not solved here

here is decision:

but I can not define tools on this picture
