algorithmic modeling for Rhino

i had a rhino surface that i am dividing and panelizing using the box morph.  is there a way to use a point attractor on these?  i have tried experimenting a lot but i can never get the point to work with the arrayed panels, just the original one i made in rhino.

It depends on how you want to mainipulate the component you are arraying.

I have seen both of those examples many times but I am using isotrim and surface box morph because I am using a single tile to panelize on my surface. I'm not creating a grid of points on a surface and adding circles it, I know how to do that. Taz I've seen the example you sent, one project I've seen before and really like, but again it seems they are just using circles on the surface, not exactly using subsrf and srfbox. Typically for editing the srfbox all you can do is edit the height but I want to actually use a point attractor to edit the panels which are populated on the surface. I'll try to work on the def. a little more tonight and get it on here. Thanks for the help though guys.

yeah here are the files. basically i used an input of points to create a mesh which im using as my panel. i used the delauny mesh component so i can use the points to manipulate the panel. basically what id like to do is maybe just have a basic attractor to pull the points on the panel towards it. im just looking for some way to make my boxmorph panels responsive to something; whether i decide to use a point attractor or if i want to use solar calculations.

Since you're working with Delauney meshs why don't you just create an independent mesh for each subsurface? No need to morph 'nuthin..

Here is what I have done for you. It seemed a bit complicated in your system, I didn't know which triangle you wanted to parametrize so I just did a simple example. You can elaborate this adding more triangles and lofting the surfaces maybe. Good luck!

So you don't want to use meshes...
Well since I started this post my partner and I have moved past this concept for a wall but basically what i was looking for was a way to use a point attractor on a panelized mesh. Not any panelized mesh but one that uses the morphbox to populate one single panel across whatever the isotrim domain is. I wanted that single attractor point to work for each panel, manipulating whatever parameter I would specify. I appreciate all the help with it though.

How can I open or use this code in Grasshopper please ?

 

I did a definition that allows for certain breps to be morphed to a surface box due to an attractor by measuring the distance from the center of the each box on the surface to the attractor and then dispatched the remainder which creates a possibility for endless amounts of components and attractors. Let me know if your interested and I'll post it
