Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi,

sorry, i´ve basic concepts of grasshopper,

there any way to do with grasshopper something like does the command sillouette in rhino?

extract the apparent contour of a surface from a point of view?

the project component gives only the projection of the line that generates the surface or its edge

thanks

Here's some references (with some info in the comments):

I never got around to getting the _Silhouette command to operate inside GH.
I had a go at doing this also, its a kind of single point projection definition that doesn't draw hidden faces based on some simple calculations. Its not perfect but maybe worth a squiz

thanks for your answers,

i think the way is to create a component which includes the order shilouette and run it, something like a rhino script.
is it possible, to call a rhino order as in rhinoscript?

regards

This is possible.

I needed to do it to make a boundary for standard 3-axis CNC undercuts. Having a lot of trouble adding the shadow, though. (The magenta surface was done "manually" in Rhino.)

can you post the expressions used for "list item" and "list length"?

Could you do with inaccurate curve result?  Mesh it, then get Mesh Shadow, Curve Discontinuity then finally Interpolate curve.
