algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all!

I just started working on a project where we're trying to morph a standard cupboard. One of the panels should undergo a growth/transformation and the other panels will need to react on this.

I have scripted the first part, but am now getting lost at deciding if I should work with outline crvs or surfaces. Thusfar, the script allows for a simple deformation of the selected panel and basically cutting the other panels. I would, however, like the appearance to be that the other panels are pushed away / crushed.

Any general ideas on how to get started?

What if you start with a regular grid which you deform using attractors/repellers? Move points based on the distance to the repeller. You can make a difference between the cornerpoints and the point on the lines.

Hi Sander :)

yes, this did work, thanks to the Lunchbox - grid-on-surface component that I found! First I was making a huge mess with trying to fit a standard GH grid on the different surfaces.

cheers!
