Precision error?

Hi everyone, I got the hoopsnake thing working (that I posted yesterday). However, as the scripts runs, I start to get some precision problems. Just the background: I have five seperate tiles, and a…Continue

Hi all, I'm having some problems with sorting these curves. (Not sure how they got messed up anyway, but I guess that had something to do with the many filleting and splitting...) I tried sorting the…Continue

"Hi Yannis, thanks for this idea. I had to rebuild some stuff because somewhere along my Hoopsnake script, the tiles were flattened and shuffled. Now I managed to do this with the pick item index with a series (first pick 1, then pick 1 and 2, then…"

precision error - region union

Hi everyone, I have found one of the problems with my pattern-producing script. There appears to go something wrong with the precision of a region union. I have tried changing tolerances/units of the Rhino file, but that does not seem to helpBefore union, both curves have sides of 10.0. After union, there is one side that is 10.0000001. This get worse when putting the placement script through hoopsnake and after a while prevents tiles from joining because all the sides are slightly…See More

Precision error?

Hi everyone, I got the hoopsnake thing working (that I posted yesterday). However, as the scripts runs, I start to get some precision problems. Just the background: I have five seperate tiles, and a script that takes a base tile, selects a random next one, rotates in all options, checks for collisions etc etc... This should end up with a correct random placement of the next tile. (Also preventing placement of a tile that will give problems with placing the next) Something goes wrong when with a…See More

Girih tiles - align curves

Hi all, I just started a Girih-tiles script (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girih_tiles) and installed Kangaroo. I was hoping that I could use this to align the tiles with each other. (And use hoopsnake, to pick te next one? I don't know yet...and imagine I'll run into some other problems ;) ) However, I already get stuck aligning the sides. Don't know what went wrong since I basically used the example script? Does anyone have a clue?…See More

sorting synchronously problem

Hi all, I'm having some problems with sorting these curves. (Not sure how they got messed up anyway, but I guess that had something to do with the many filleting and splitting...) I tried sorting the start points by coordinates (I just want the upper one to be "0" and the bottom one to be "6". Sorting the keys work fine, (it shows 0,1,2,3,4,5,6), but when I try to sort the curves synchronously, I get 0,1,6,2,4,5,3? What am I doing wrong? thanks! Anja…See More
