algorithmic modeling for Rhino

High all,

Im currently helping a friend try to project constructed geometry from rhino interface into gh but we're having trouble with getting the geomtry to attach to the jittered surface frames.  Any comments or suggestions would be great!  rhino file and def attached

Can you describe with some screenshots what geometry you are trying to project and what type of projections you want to create? Isometric? Perspective?
I am trying to project pretty simple boxy polysurfaces. I am trying to create a definition that will randomly distribute a series of polysurfaces along the points that are generated around the vertical core. I would like to be able to view a series of iterations of the form that is created by these polysurfaces having different relationships to one another. Let me know your thoughts. I appreciate your help.

Ah, so you're trying to generate your geometry in 3D. Creating linework (projections) from the geometry is a separate issue.

As far as suggestions, it would be pretty hard to start with only your 9 modules and have GH arrange them for each floor. From your Rhino file it looks like the modules don't intersect and it would be hard to impose this constraint with GH. In fact, I think that would be a generative type scripting issue.

The best way to start might be to create several different floor arrangements by hand. You could then use GH for the distribution of the various floor types vertically. It seems like each floor arrangement could be rotated 90, 180, or 270 degrees for more (or less) variation.

It might also help to limit yourself to 2 different floor arrangements to start. Then you can use boolean lists. See the discussion below, but instead of a 10' or 12' floor height you could do a Type A or Type B floor.

thanks for the advice. Ill let you know of any progress.
