Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I'm currently building a geometrical form for an architecture project and I can't seem to be able to trim the scaled down surface from the original surface (the bigger one). Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

here is the rhino and grasshopper file.

Thanks again

Hello Michelle

I had a look the code you posted here with little luck of how to fix the problem then i stubbled on your previous post on my travels asking for help, where you had posted the the full code. I read the full code and understood how you had created the original breps. As trimming surfaces in Grasshopper is not the easiest task i used you code as a basis for understanding the form an have re-wriiten the code this morning for you, using a different work flow so there is no need to trim any surfaces and still contains your main 2 sliders. (Size and Scaler)

The file has been written in GH .59

Hope This helps

Thank you so much, Matt.
But I cant open this file. Is it because i have .6 version of grasshopper?
can i send me the 0.59 grasshopper by email, plz?
To a6michelle2000@hotmail.com

Thanks again. lots!:)
ok, sorry, my fault. I had the older version. Im upgrading it. Thanks lots
Do you still need the file emailed over.

Also do you know how the edges are ment to look if the module is shelled as the ones i have created don't seem totally right yet. The shell system is not in the file you have as posted that earleir today and shell code is still Work in Progress.

matt
you r brilliant. I should special acknowledgement for you when I finished this assignment!
Thank you, i guess the file works then, any ideas on the edges question above?

P.s You did the hard work by working out the maths that create the shape just tweaked the code a little ;)
Thank you Matt. There is a lil problem with it that is not totally working. Cuz i modified the one i was previously working on. I'd like the inside to be able to deform but not the edge. the again, i cant trim. and im trying to do it your way, not successful yet.
Here is the new file.

Thanks a lot.

Ok give us a chance to have a re-think as you have rather upped the anti with your new idea and i will see what i can come up with.
OK fixed the first bug that you created in the code it now has an offset scaling option, or original cental system (gated system)

Highly Possible rewritting of the shellig option if still requied will can either be tryed by you this evening or will have to wait till the morning as bought the old file home from work. If you want to try it i can explain the code i had written to do it here. (i think)

very smart, Matt.
I thought it was created by the rotation of one reference line.
You help a lot with my project and im very grateful!

Im keep developing the module and i may bother you in the future.
You are invited to our final crit!

and I'd love to understand better your code.
thank you.

Best.
Michelle
No worries, just post again on this tread if you have any more questions.

I have just had a play with shelling the latest deformable module but it does not work in the same way as the old system so failling totally, as your still developing the module i will leave it for the moment but if you do want to try and shell any of the ideas i'd be happy to have another look and post the code.

Matt
