Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone is still working with the 0.5.0099 release.
It is still the official stable release, but there has been millions of great improvments since then.

If I talk to Grasshopper beginners they are always afraid of the beta status of  the software. So I need to convince them that the WIP is safe.

From my point of view the 0.6.0019 was working very good. Never had any problems with it. Maybe bump that up to be the offical stable release? That supports at least the concept of data trees!

What do you think?

Thanks
Martin

It's not really about stability. In 0.6 we lost a couple of functions such as Clusters and -more recently- the Remote Control Panel. I think we need to re-instate these before we can make 0.6 the official version.

However, it now looks like the next official version will in fact be a flavour of 0.7.

Hi Martin, I'd love to add something. Even if WIP version of GH its called like that, it works better than the "superstable" version of XP I'm running (and I had to buy with my machine). I like to understand that all software should be allways WIP, open and shared. In that situation you know which thing you can and you can't do with any version of the software, and choose the one you need...

This way David is able to release thousands of new tools very often, and we are able of helping him on his task (or annoying him), asking for new components, interface, posting bugs, etc...

Just thoughts...
Hi Pep,
I love the way GH is developed. Actually it is the way every software should be developed.
For me it's was just a matter of terminology, that sometimes confuses people who are new to GH.
