algorithmic modeling for Rhino

planar surface extrusion

hi guys, 

i would like to create planar extruded surfaces from a lofted curve surface. the way i've done is just to convert the vertices to boxes, which however also create gaps and overlaps between the boxes. 

would like to ask if there a way to extrude each face of the surface to become a flat planar surface, so that there will be no overlap between the boxes,  to achieve a kind of terrace effect as in the rendering?

I think you have to use the cap surface after the loft command
