Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm a new member of this community, and a beginner user of GH.

I'm preparing my college design thesys on a Waerie&Phelan Theory.

so, i'm preparing some structures and i would obtain from these solids (Attached1)

a structure like the pictures of the other attached files (2-3)

can somebody help me please?

thanks a lot

If you understand that definition, then you are really the best.

I cant understand it myself anymore.

Hehe.

Seriously, somewhere inside the screenshot you could find something to generate random points inside (or not too far inside) a metaball (in planar cuts form). Its not suited for your problem.

If you have a way to test if a point is inside your structure, just generate lot of points in the bounding box of the structure and cull those inside.

sorry systemiq, but why I can't understand the components of your clusters?...maybe you redesigned them?

so, thanks a lot you are a MONSTER!

I was talking to RWNB about an old definition I made for another problem, which is impossible to understand, no worries :

boh...I really don't understand nothing!sigh!:-(

Unless you were not understanding the definition I posted for you because I was using the "draw icons" options.

Can be seen like that too :

what, you can not understand it? (:

and i wanted to try to understand it.

should I let it rather be?

well, I'm a really BEGINNER of GH.

I would understand step by step what I have to do for obtain a bone structure of my shapes in picture1.

Now, I understand and i've done with GH the same cluster from BREP component.

now:

1. I have to explode the dodecahedron?

2. then I have to import a MULTIPLE SET OF SURFACES?...or one by one?

3. I have to reparametrize the imported surfaces?

4. wich kind of values I have to set on the sliders?

5. can you help me by email? (emiliano@wakeupcreative.com) besides here?

i'm goin' crazy!

if i understood you correctly, you want to change your geometry (stamp1.jpg) and make it into a flowing, dynamic form (bone structure).

systemiq has referred you to the link.
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/how-to-create-nodesbone?c...

this link show you the possibility to create you desirebale structure with grasshopper.

that is answerable to others:

1. you have to install Kangaroo.
2. then you must convert your geometry to meshes.
3. triangulate your meshes.
4. Replace then the geometry of Daniel Piker
and test what happens.
5. if you have created the desired shape with kangarro (your bone structure), then of course you need the necessary points, so that you can create a voronoi object. a very good example of this is the video of SystemQ.

it is unfortunately no exercises for beginners!
maybe some weaverbird action as well.

this is an old def of me.
it builds on vincente soler voronoi 3d.

can you tell me the website, where you have the pictures?

hi systemic,

can you show us how it goes better?

only when you want it. (:

thanks in advance

What is wrong with the definition ?
there is only one design dissatisfaction.
through this discussion it has become aware of:

1. it is important to make an interesting envelope.
this is solved with your note! THANKS!

2. how do i make the points inside the envelope?
this has to be figured out!
