Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

I am trying to achieve something like this fantastic 3d voronoi model done by Andrew Kudless. But I realized that there is a button called 2d voronoi in grasshopper only. I tried the definition by Dimitrie. But I couldn't really control the cells within a bounding box.

I am not sure whether it is possible to do this in grasshopper or I have to learn vb script and so I could understand and edit Dimitrie's definetion.

Any thoughts or directions will be helpful.

Thanks,
Tommy

Taz, nice find on that first link.

I've tried working with QHull in the past but I always got hung-up when pointing to the correct file. It would work on my XP machine but not on my windows 7 system. This gives me renwed hope!

The one Taz linked is much faster than qhull as well.

Hi All

I'm currently undertaking my final year in architecture, I'm relatively new to Grasshopper but have used parametric design software for a few years. I'm looking to develop an architectural system that is flexible, much like a fractal system.

Would it be possible for somone to give me some advice of generating a box which its dimensions are affected by multiple internal box dimensions, I have attached a YouTube video that may better describe this, the initial part of the video that highlights multiple room flexibility and rotation would be useful, the explorations into Galapagos are not of interest yet.

Above is a jpeg of the script that I have started but I'm confused as to how to control multiple box positions within the larger box and how these boxes impact on one another and the final overall box dimensions. Currently I can control one box with another but not multiple ones in which their positions are flexible within the larger box.

Any light you could shed on this or a point of reference would be great

Many thanks

Adam

Check the XForm tab. You can move scale and rotate your boxes.
