Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

As of today, the Grasshopper trademark and source codes are no longer owned by Robert McNeel & Associates as we've negotiated the acquisition of the product by Recursive Development llc. R-D is a new company specifically founded for continued Grasshopper development. There will be an official press release early next week.

The main purpose of this transfer is to put Grasshopper on a firm commercial footing and to guarantee development on 3D platforms other than Rhino.

In the meantime, this forum will remain active and McNeel employees will continue to provide support until the transition is complete.

Can we buy shares in the new company?

I have to admit that if you make GH available in the Autodesk products I'm dropping Rhino in a heartbeat.

to do what buy a licence of autocad for 5000$ or revit for 7000$ or max or maya for 6000$?

good shot!

as far as I am concerned rhino it is the best, most complete and powerful tool on the market at currently the best student price ever!

did you check rhino 5?

no need for autocad anymore... at all!

think about it!

F

All valid points, but on 31/02/2012 I'll be buying a copy of AutoCAD.
hahahaha so am i!

Discovering Rhino 8 years ago, I threw out my autocad software 5 years ago after using autocad for 15 years.

Rhino + plugins rule!!!  I must also say the exceptional Rhino support is the other main reason I am Rhino's biggest fan.

Stan
