Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

my first attempt at this.

i have a solid form in rhino with two other solids spaces boolean-ed out of it. the remainder solid form is cut into fins arrayed throughout it. my tutor helped me write the grasshopper formula and it generates the desired result. but i can't select that result to use in any way...?

i have selected the rhino forms and baked them. but nothing happens.

Hana,
So you have already tried to select and bake the last (right-most) component and nothing bakes? From time to time this happens to me too...sometimes I have to close GH n Rhino and open everything up again...

Try plugging the BRep data into a free floating BRep parameter and bake that. Does it work then?
Yes, this also does it from time to time...but not always...
There is a bug in Grasshopper which prevents Generic parameters from baking their contents. I've already fixed this and it will be available soon.

If a BRep component fails to bake, then it's a separate bug. We'll see what happens when the new code goes online. The entire Baking system has been rewritten.
thx for the comments gentlemen, turns out this supernoob tried to bake the wrong component! *blush*

but am facing a new challenge of adding struts (running parallel above the tangential curve which the fins are arrayed on) as bracing for the fins.... how?

see attached birds eye view.jpg and the full gh script on shelter.jpg (attached with first post)
