Francis Biconti - structure. How to do something similar?

Hi,

Has anyone idea how to do something similar as a beautiful work of Francis Biconti?

How to sart with this, and what kind of components to use?

I saw also that DesignMorphine in their accesories workshop is doing also something similar.

Hello, 

here is a way to deform a shape, it uses Simplex Noise, see

The idea here is to deform a mesh, it could be surface (via control points), via the simplex noise. The graph mapper is used to suppress the deformation at the end. To make something circular the shape can be bend. But it is also possible to apply simplex noise directly on the circular shape. 

Play with time, scale and amplification slider. 

The step after could be to use cocoon or isosurface from millepede to thicken the mesh/surface. 

For Perlin noise see the forum there are many examples.

There are many other parameters to play with, like the scale in X, Y, Z ...

Hi, I think this definition is simpler than it seems. You can for example sweep hexagons and calculate a deformation for each rail curve based on a point attractor. The sweeps are thickened into solids and then cut by a surrounding shape that cuts just more into the sweeps than the highest deformation at that point, leaving those open sections visible all around the shoe.
