Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody,

I need your help about simple definition with kangaroo, I'm sure there is a lot of discussions about it but I can't find the answer...

I'd like to transform a mesh with a falling sphere. I am able to transform the mesh when the sphere is not moving and give a gravity movement to the sphere, but I can't mix the two definitions....

I've heard about the Solver component of Kangaroo but I don't know how to use it.

Do you have any ideas? the definition is attached

Thks!!

Hi.

I have a similar def.(I hope)This is still WIP.

You can find another relevant thread from here.

Thks Kim, it will be very helpful!

When I increase the gravity or when I change the springs parameters, the sphere goes through the mesh (even with a high level of subdivision of the mesh), so I can't have the wanted effect (schema attached).

Do you have some suggestions to reach this objective?

After the simulation, there you can find usual deviation between particle simulation result and final mesh.

If you can slightly increase "rest length" and "cutoff" factors of "SpringsFromLines", you can get rid of final mesh overlap. As I'd already mentioned, it's still WIP...

Slightly improved...

I've finally the effect that I wanted (almost) by adding some anchors points at your definition, to fix a part of the mesh (outside of a brep i've built), and then rebuilding the mesh with MeshMachine.

Thks again for your help, now a have to apply the definition with a more complexe mesh and 16 spheres....
