Hi all,I have two 3d shapes (generated in grasshopper) that connect to corners of a triangle and square and want to tile it in the pattern below. However, in the third image, you can see that they…Continue

Need help with extruding lines at a tangent derived from curve!

Hi everyone, I have a question about extruding according to a tangent. Or maybe a derived vector might be a more appropriate. I have a bunch of curves but I can't seem to extrude them in Rhino. Well…Continue

Compressible cylinder/cone origami ie. Issey Miyake

Hi everyone, I came across this video of this "dress" Issey Miyake designed in 2010. Basically, it can be compressed flat and can unfold as a dress as the images below (or in the video at 3.20…Continue

Extracting information from image/photo

Hey everyone! A while back, I came across a grasshopper definition where it "extracts" information from images/photos; I think, based on colour gradients and using those to perform extrusions, or…Continue

"Hmm... so I managed to simplify the variables to one slider. If I distributed the two geometries across a grid made up of coordinates, do you think that might work?"

"I don't want them to distrort the target curves. Probably just control how much the geometries open up. Yea, I can't seem to get it to work"

"does the attractor distort the target curves? because this method wouldn't work if that was the case."

"very nice solution danny...ra, there is no better solution for placing the objects. To unroll the surfaces you can use this (if you're using rhino 5)."

Help with bounding boxes at different shapes?

Hi all,I have two 3d shapes (generated in grasshopper) that connect to corners of a triangle and square and want to tile it in the pattern below. However, in the third image, you can see that they overlap when I try to connect them.Is there a way to create a bounding "box" for these to avoid overlaps?Would really appreciate if someone could give a few suggestions or have a look at my files attached!…See More

"Hi Anja, Things have come a long way since I wrote that for Ra. Your issue with the RUnion Component is in the units and tolerances of your Rhino Document. Change them to meters and similarly your GH file sliders and you get the desired effect. "
