Carlo, your images look fantastic! I would like to know more about how you have modeled these surfaces in Grasshopper. How do you define a catenary? I am happy to take whatever you can give me :)

Hi guys! I really appreciate your attention on this theme.
My first goal was to find an algorhytm to create a kinky surface starting from a 4-sided one. Like in a cloth, where I take a point and stretch it with a hook to another point. Here you can see the topic http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/kinky-surface and download my first definition.
Then I realized that the tensile problem needs to be fronted with a more scientific approach, so I started working on catenaries: firstly I tryed with a catenary between two points, then with a set of catenaries from a set of straight lines, then starting from two lines, linking them with lines like in a hammock,finding catenaries and lofting them (well,that's not exactly what I made,but it's good to explane) with a tensile surface like in this example.

i m working on tensile membranes too, using david rutten's scripts for mesh/nurbs relaxation, but i would like to be able to create a definition, u know, easier to investigate and parametrically modify in real time... r u working on that carlo? how is it going?
