Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi David!

I was wondering if could be possible to add a FilePath and domains as an INPUT for the ImageSampler component?
it would be easier to control parametrically when working with the same or different images.

Best regards and thanks in advance.

Erick.

One more vote on this.

Path and X,Y domain control externally would be a great features.

I forget where I got this; I know I didn't write it. But at least allows you to input a file path dynamically. And all the domain stuff can presumably either be added to the script or handled via remapping.

Thank you for the reply Andrew.

Am I doing something wrong:

?

In the existing script, the values need to be between 0 and 1. Attached is a rewritten version which includes a source UV domain.

Thanks a lot Andrew, it's amazing, if it's not too much to ask, but the idea of the external File Path is to play with the channels of the image sampler (colour brightness, colour hue), I'd appreciate it. regards.

you can use the built in "split ARGB" and "split AHSV" components to extract all of the same channels from the color output that the image sampler provides.

Hi Erick,

I've made this for a project in the office a few weeks ago...because i had to load lots of images based on a list of objectnames...made some changes, so you can choose your own domain or use the resolution from the image.

The only thing i couldn't solve is, that the display image updates when you change source...you have to open dialog and close it in order to refresh.

Maybe David knows how to force a refresh. It seems to work on the first setting of the image.

I was thinking about to write a custom image sampler as well, but the advantage of the GH image sampler are the features it has...like locked bits and the auto save...as well as the filters.

Btw.: David has exposed a nice and safe class for doing image Sampling ... basically the same class is used by the GH Component. Its name is MemoryBitmap...you can build up the same functionality with filters ect.

Cheers FF

Wonderful.
Thank you, both Andrew and Florian.

Looks nice.  BTW, there are a host of image analysis tools (include a bitmap sampler) and a Load Image component which has an input for the file path included in the Firefly plugin.  Not sure if this would help, but maybe it would be of some use in this discussion.

Cheer,

Andy

Hi Erick,

I just tried downloading the file from the Firefly site and everything worked fine.  I unzipped it and everything worked as expected. Are you sure it downloaded completely?  It should be about 13.4mb.

I don't know what happens, it is the third time I downloaded and still weighs 10.9mb. I also downloaded the 64-bit and this unzip normally and weighs 16mb. can you upload to some cloud please
