Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

If I build a polygon grid in grasshopper and I want the grid system to serve as a structure for my future building, then, are there some methods to calculate the resultant force (vector) of every node of the grid?

In addition, the grid are 3 dimension and the external force for the structure is only gravity. If I can figure out the resultant force of each node, I think, I can transform the forces (vectors) into numbers (scalar) and work out an optimal grid structure with relatively the least internal forces.

If you have some solutions to my problem or you want to give me some suggestion, please reply! Thanks!

It is my first time to do digital design, suffering!

Are you trying to do form finding or structural analysis?

If you're trying to do form finding check out Kangaroo.

If you're trying to do structural analysis check out GeometryGym.

There's a little bit of crossover between the two plug-in's but it's all very interesting stuff.
