I got an urgent problem of WEAVERBIRD, why can't I divide the facade surface into quadrangular grids?

I knew that the plugin can subdivide a mesh or a surface into grids, but why I can't find a command to do this? How to generate the grids in the image of the below website? The image with a bird…Continue

How to build a lofted surface through two closed planar curves?

I got one curve and offset it and move it through a Z vector, but I connect these two curves to the LOFT,  and there is no result.  I have tried to build lofted surface through two random curves, and…Continue

How to redefine the "F" in the plug-in Rabbit?

I am trying to model a tree-like structure with the plug-in Rabbit, but I found the "F" in it is always a line. Can I redefine it as a curve or surface? Is there anyone could help me with my problem?…Continue

Jon Mirtschin replied to Joyce Shun's discussion 'what is the problem with my pipe? Please help me!!'
It's possibly a display problem, drawing lots and lots of cylinders is graphically intense. If you try using the SDR sweep profile using a circular profile instead of pipe, there is an option to generate a coarser (more planar faces) mesh…

what is the problem with my pipe? Please help me!!

I have hundreds of points on a planar surface, some of which are the the result of intersection of several lines and the planar surface, and the others are the divide points of the out edge of the planar surface. Then, I flatten them all and use the command Delaunay Edges in MESH to connect all of them as a net. Then I use the command Trim with region to remove the lines that out of the surface. At last, I remove the null and invalid items of the list and connect it to the command Pipe, the…See More

Hi Joyice, have you found the samples that come with the installer? There is a link in the start menu to that folder. - Giulio

Thanks very much and the step-by-step instructions in the 3dm file provide me a clear conception of mesh and the grids in it. Would you please send me some more files which can tutor me? I want to learn more about the plug-in because I am really…

Hi Joyce, I believe there are not many tutorials out there, thank you for the feedback. Here I'm attaching the original drawing of the bird with step-by-step comments to explain. Just remember that the current release of WeaverBird only works…

Thanks very much Trevor! And I found my another problem was that there were several sharp corners in the curves, so after I filleting them, the loft worked!

Offset typically changes the tree structure: i.e. if your curve was at {0}, the offset curve is likely at {0;0}. If you use Merge component before connecting them to Loft you can use a Panel or Param Viewer to check if they are in the same branch.…

Hi Joyce,

Nice to hear from you and let me know how I can help you get started.
Strange about the website block, as I have other users in China. I will have to ask if they have direct access.

If you have another idea about how/where to host the download in China, I'm open to hear about it. There are lot's of examples and sample files on the blog. I can of course send you directly files and information as needed.

Cheers,

Jon
