Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

im exploring how the tension of a curved surface can create a opening. Using grasshopper i am analysing a surface and depending on the size of the curvature creating openings bY splitting the surface. However due to the nature of the curve i am not getting the desired opening so i was suggested to use a vector amplitude to enhance this opening. However i am not sure where to place this component. any suggestions would be amazing. ive uploaded a small file so yOu gus can see what im trying to do.

Cheers

To increase the effect of the opening there are two obvious ways.

1) use a higher upper limit for the target domain where your curvature gets remapped

2) mulitiply the remapped values with your "amplitude" slider before feeding them to the line lengths

Amplitude will set the length of a vector to a specific value. In your case this is not useful, as you never really use a vector length in your def. The "amplitude" of your openings is hidden in the length of the perpendicular lines.
