working in processing and grasshopper

hi my new in processing and even more in grasshopper that why my question maybe it seems silly.i am working with a code in processing that work with an audio file(mp3) and i want to transfer all processing data to grasshopper.I have download the ghowl file but i dont know how to make the instalation and active it.I would appreciate if someone could show exactly the process.Thank you

Hello Joana,

you need to install the gHowl_r49.gha file in your components folder:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

Also, you should be able to drag and drop it on the grasshopper canvas.

Now the important part is how you read the mp3 file in processing. How are you doing this now, and which parameters are you extracting from the waveform? There are certain libraries, such as the Minim library which allow you to import audio into Processing and analyze certain values. Also, you will need the UDP library for processing in order to send data from one to the other. Make sure to store the UDP library in the appropriate place.

I downloaded every component you told me here

i have a certain sketch on processing with the libraries imported and the sound applied to it

now i want to make the connection with grasshopper.

The question is i make the connection with the "the engine" component you describe on youtube?

And how i make that connection?

i tried to drag and drop the component but i cant figure out how ?

TheEngine component by Giulio is not necessary as the UDPreceiver takes care of this. Take a look at the gHowl UDP example for sound (gHowl_UDP_sound) to see how it is all wired up.
