installing RDK?

from what i have read it seems that you need to have the RDK installed for the shader function to work ... does anyone know of any examples for this process or a brief explanation of what the RDK is .. i am feeling a little lost..

i am more interested in the custom preview aspects... like the first screen shot shown in this topic

but my shader comes up as just a simple object that says shader... i am using build .7

Not any more. the RDK was required before, but since I switched to the new SDK for Grasshopper the advanced shaders no longer work at all anymore. I don't know when we'll re-implement them again.

oh in some ways that is a relief ..i thought i had lost some cognitive abilities ... i used the color swatch for a quick and easy solution
