i figured it out you have to use an older object to send information from ghopper the...... object looks like this
mxj net.udp.recv @port 10009 or whatever port you want.... hope this helps someone

If you are just sending to your own machine, try 127.0.0.1 as the IP address (locahost).

oh in some ways that is a relief ..i thought i had lost some cognitive abilities ... i used the color swatch for a quick and easy solution

Not any more. the RDK was required before, but since I switched to the new SDK for Grasshopper the advanced shaders no longer work at all anymore. I don't know when we'll re-implement them again.

from what i have read it seems that you need to have the RDK installed for the shader function to work ... does anyone know of any examples for this process or a brief explanation of what the RDK is .. i am feeling a little lost.. thanks, nathanSee More

Why not stream the GH data directly into processing via UDP? Take a look at gHowl and some work from Luis over at LAN.

ubimash is excellent ... (thanks for turning me on to it) but it seems like ubimash does not allow grasshopper to publish data ... not sure yet... will look further and post any progress

Hi Nathan,
I have not tried it, but Ubimash can do it: http://ubimash.com/
Otherwise you will need to write a script component in Grasshopper to save a file / use OSC to transfer the data - there is various examples in this forum.

i have GH data straming into an excel file then going into processing via a csv... the problem is there is no real time connection i have to resave the excel file and re-run the proccessing ... does anyone know of a "better" realtime interoperability workflow....thanks , nathan frenchSee More
