Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Millipede is a structural analysis and optimization component for grasshopper. It allows for very fast linear elastic analysis of frame and shell elements in 3d, 2d plate elements for in plane forces, and 3d volumetric elements. All systems can be optimized using built in topology optimization methods and have their results extracted and visualized in a variety of ways.

In addition millipede implements a few basic geometric features [extraction of iso surface meshes from volumetric scalar fields or and extraction of curved contours over any mesh] and a few numerical analysis tools [Fast fourier transforms in 1 and 2 dimensions, sparse linear system solver and eigenvalue calculation for large matrices using functionality from the intel math kernel library]

I agree with Daniel. I`ll prefer to have single visual frsmeworks for all plugins

hey! this is great!

but example 004, 005, 008 arent working. are there special plugins needed? im running a win7, rhino4 sr8, and grasshopper 66 machine...

thank you!

So, I love the functionality of these components, but the icons are killing me! They look cool, but the user experience that I've developed with the rest of the GH components is gone...

I'm finding it takes just a few milliseconds longer than normal to figure where the little inputs are (white on a light grey is not a whole lot of contrast)....

Is there a UI/UX reason why the developers chose to make them completely different from the rest of the set?

Maybe there could be a toggle (like the text vs. draw icon option)?

But it terms of what they do, they're brilliant.

I am continually amazed by the brilliance and generosity of the user community here.  Congratulations, and thanks!  I'm looking forward to having a good play with Millipede.
