Exoskeleton + Cytoskeleton Components

Daniel Piker and I are excited to repackage an updated Exoskeleton with his new Plankton-based mesh wireframe thickening tool Cytoskeleton into a single GHA.

Although both components have been tested and improved upon from their original setups, this GHA is still a work in progress, and hopefully…

David Stasiuk replied to Pieter Segeren's discussion Align planes
"Nice! That looks good. Yeah, the angle and rotation calculations are definitely more computationally expensive, although you could do it all in one line:  P1.Rotate(Vector3d.VectorAngle(P1.XAxis, P2.XAxis, P1), P1.ZAxis) :)"

David Stasiuk replied to Eric Lawler's discussion creating low-res polygons
"The red arrow component is a timer You enable it/disable it by double clicking. Using it will show how Mesh machine runs on a time basis so you can see it working...or else you can increase the Iter value to just have it execute a number of passes,…"

David Stasiuk replied to Pieter Segeren's discussion Align planes
"It's just this, yes? ' Where P1 is the plane to reorient ' and the X Axis of P2 is the driving vector Dim RotateAngle As Double = Vector3d.VectorAngle(P1.XAxis, P2.XAxis, P1) P1.Rotate(RotateAngle, P1.ZAxis) A = P1"

David Stasiuk replied to Eric Lawler's discussion creating low-res polygons
"Also, look into Mesh Machine by Daniel Piker. It's in Kangaroo, and lets you dynamically set the target edge length for your mesh. Here are two transformations, the first making the mesh denser, the second going for the low poly: You'll…"

GH2 Octrees

"Does this one track adjacencies between the leaf nodes? I was playing with Octrees when I was working with marching cubes, hoping to integrate the two and limit the sampling grid, but was having a hard time finding good documentation for navigating…"

David Stasiuk replied to Perry White's discussion Culling grid lines from a geometry
"Is the green not what you want? It simply trims away the outer elements from your collection of curves... "

David Stasiuk replied to Perry White's discussion Culling grid lines from a geometry
"Hi Perry- I'm missing the "Decodes python script" component...any chance that you can just internalize the two sets of curves that you want to compare? "

David Stasiuk replied to Perry White's discussion Culling grid lines from a geometry
"The short answer is to use Trim with Region and select the interior curves. But if what you want to achieve is more complex, it'd be better for you to post your definition and an image of what you're trying to achieve."
