RL code inside the panel then the plugin gives a error about a missing internet connection (see the attached picture).
Some details that can give you more perspective about the problem:
-The installation on my PC went exact the same way like i installed it on my laptop (and it works fine on my laptop).
-I use windows 7 on my laptop and windows 8 on my PC.
-Mr. Scott (from McNeel) adviced me to refresh my windows because some connection were broken after a rename of the C drive. But the problem wasn't solved after the refresh.
-Mr. Scott also teamviewed me (before the refresh) and so far i understood everthing looked fine (except the windows error). The Grasshopper also worked fine on his PC.
The Grasshopper setup is also atached in this message. Hopefully someone can help me find a solution. Because my laptop can't run all the resources and my school investigation gets a possible delay.

2GB RAM and a GeForce 4 mx 4000 128MB (and I suspect is not working for Rhino or Gh, because in my openGL preferences Rhine says I have only 64mb of video memory), and still within a couple of months I was able to do my entire graduation thesis, modeled 95% in Gh.. So a basic pc is not an excuse thanks to you guys :D

I suppose that, because of the mutually exclusive behavior of both the spider and grasshopper (i.e. only one at a time can access the COM port), we can deduce that we are listening on the correct port.
Am I listening on the correct pin (if such a notion makes sense at all)? If I look back to the spider software, I see that 9 channels are listed and that it's only the measured value on channel 0 that changes when I press the load cell. Channels 1, 2, and 3 report OVERFLOW; 4, 5, 6, and 7 are pretty much constant at 0.000 to 0.005 V; and channel 8 says FFFF. I do not know how things like that work so I do not know if they reflect reading from the 9 pins on the D-sub 9 connector.
As for your BTW question: no, I don't need to record all of the sensor values. I suppose that the Out value on the Read component will always reflect the most current value and that's all that I need to get on with life. In the end, the idea is that we have 4 load cells in the 4 corners of a plate onto which a vertical pipe is fixed. Loads are then put on the top end of the pipe and we'll have to visualize both direction and magnitude of the bending moment that is calculated from the compression - tension readings from the load cells... We've done this on a scaled model and streamed load cell information into MatLab. Now we'll have to use a different datalogger and I was hoping to be able to do the post processing in Rhino.

hot you posted suggests, that "Terrain Generator" tried two times to download the terrain file from opentopography.org, and it failed to do that both times.As the opentopography.org servers are working, the problem may be with your PC. It may for some reason blocking the "Terrain Generator" component from downloading the terrain file.Can you please try these steps:1) Close your Grasshopper and Rhino.2) Restart your PC3) When it boots up again, in your Start menu's search box type: "UAC", which will find your User Account Control Settings. Click on it, and a new window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".4) Turn off your Windows Firewall.5) Then turn off your custom Firewall (in case you have another one, besides standard Windows Firewall).6) Then completely turn off your Antivirus.7) Right-click on "Rhino 5" icon and then choose: "Run as administrator".8) When Rhino boots up, run Grasshopper, and open the newest analyse_terrain.gh file from here. Do not increase the radius_ input. Try running it with the default radius: 600 meters.
After these steps, are there any warning messages with your "Terrain Generator" component?…
