port.
In my case, I downloaded arduino installer again from arduino website, then I chosen correct port that "control panel > device and printer > Arduino Uno > choose correct COM".
Finally, I could enjoy arduino and firefly!
Thank you Andy!…
ently of total 8, while having a CPU load somewhere around 12% only. Can I assign more memory/power to speed things up? And how? :)
And tips or links welcome. Thanks!

Then the weird thing happened: when i linked a number slider (with a number between 1-12) to _month of the sunpath component, it took like 4 mins to process it, which used to be less than 1 sec. And if i linked a series component to it, everything would be fine... (I didnt even link sunpath to any other thing) So i tried work with series but set count to 1, and this made me another 4 mins to wait... I'm OK with this cuz i dont change month so often, but if i changed the hour, it seems recompute all the things around, so for everytime i want to change it, another 4 mins to go...
I was starting thinking about maybe some files were damaged when my pc crashed, so i deleted all the files and re-installed them for the rar downloaded, still the same. I checked my RAMs to see if there was any problem, nope.
My grasshopper version is 0.9.0076, my processor is i7-3770K@3.5ghz, 16gb DDR3 for RAM. The epw file i'm using is FRA_Paris.Orly.071490_IWEC.epw
Could anyone pls tell me what might be wrong here?
Thanks!!!
Best…
4 telling me this :
"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154."
When looking on google for help i found out that the error 80040154 wasn't only realted to grasshopper but to many other softwares and to the NET framework (i'm using the latest version of it 4.6.2 - installed yesterday, thinking that it might solve the problem but it doesn't) i'm using windows 7 and rhino 5
the gh file works on my friends pc so it clearly doesn't come from the file, either the gh or the excel one.
Any help will be much welcome!
And talk to me as if i didn't know anything about computers, because i don't know much.
THANKS A LOT! …

e grid only appears on one of them. I would like to know how to analyse an entire volume, regardless its form.
Then, I would like to know how to configure my pc so the calculation process gets faster. I'm using an AMD FX 8210 processor with 8 Gb RAM. Each core is kind of weak, so what I should do? Overclock my PC? deactivate some cores in order to fully concentrate the calculation process on those which still activated?
Thanks for your time and dedication. Your application is being quite useful for my research investigation!

tant (if you don't change them manually).
First thing you should clarify is, what features of the sound you want to visualize/use. Like Level(Volume), Frequency content, whatever... The raw input data as it comes form the soundcard is giant blob of mostly noise. To smoothen it, usually means filtering out high frequency compnents. Typically this also results in slower samplerates.
GH isn't meant to be a real-time audio processor. It's single threaded, so GH uses only one of my availabe 8 cores. Most of GH's data management would be avoided in an audio environment. Moving data from one component to the next will take some time. This is why I suggested to do all the data manipulation within a single script component. Like Andy already said, for one second of mono sound, the capture component will return 22k samples(points). (Which already is half the data rate of CD Audio.) So basically everything you do with sound in GH is likely to freeze your PC.
On my PC, making a point for each sample in 1 second of captured sound and interpolating a curve though them already takes about 0.6 seconds. No smoothing, no nothing... no chance for real time.…
screen they are harder to distinguish.
The main issue is with software developers having to make their application aware that the user might change the scale setting in Windows to make things appear bigger. When this setting is changed some things might change size, like fonts and forms, but other elements might not. If the developer didn't account for this he might set a form element in pixel size unaware that when this setting is changed, the text inside the element will scale, clipping it.
In Mac OS the problem is exactly the same. They can solve it more easily because they only have to support 2 types of resolutions, which one is exactly twice as big as the previous one, so you just have to scale everything 2x (1 pixel becomes 4), just like what i did in my previous post. The disadvantage of this is that you loose pixel density on older software. Windows might be installed in screens with many different resolutions so doing this might not be a good idea since scaling by other than whole numbers will make things look blurry. Cleartype already doesn't work that well even just scaling exactly 2x.…
