ifically: I have a 100' vertical plane lofted between curved top and bottom profiles. I contour it every 8' (normal direction is Z, giving me 13 horizontal curves). I use Divide Curve to divide each contour into 10 segments. The "Points" output of Divide Curve now yields 13 branches with 11 items each, corresponding to 13 contours with 11 points from the left end of the curve to its right.
I now want to string "vertical" lines, and connect all the 2nd items in each branch together, all the 3rd items, etc... in order to make a polyline that travels between each 2nd point or 3rd point. i don't want to use Cull Pattern/Nth/Index because the number of subdivisions could change (11 could become 20, etc).
How do I connect the Nth item of each branch in this tree? Moreover, how do I connect all values in a branch with their corresponding values in all other branches?
Thanks for any replies,

In other words, I'm looking for the GH equivalent of
Dim x As New List(Of List(Of List(Of Double)))
For example, I might have an outer list of 10 items each containing 20 lists with 30 items inside each 2nd tier list.
Say the outgoing gh_Structure is:
Dim outgoing_Struc as new gh_structure(of gh_number)
I can't seem to figure out how I might use the "append" method to GH_Structure to insert items to specific paths to create a list of a list.
The additional complexity is that I want to customize the indices of the outgoing list. Instead of the outer most list running straight from 0 to 9, I might want to have its indices non-sequential as {0}, {2}, {5}, {11} for example. This helps in using the "Tree Item" component downstream as these specific non-sequential indices refer to something specific upstream.
For example, with custom indices, I can pull a specific sublist by using index {11;3} which may not exists if the indices ran sequentially.
I guess the more general questions is whether anybody has pointers on creating nested trees in a custom component with specific indices? It appears that GH_Path has a "DebuggerDisplay" property which masks the internal continuously running index but this is a read only property.
Any pointers would be helpful
Thanks.…

asuring Urbanity."
The seminar aims at re-centering the debate of measuring urban form on the contemporary issues of designing, planning and regulating the extensive city. It will bring together a group of international experts on the subject and the objective is to discuss the importance of combined qualitative-quantitative approaches on the generation of new insights on the contemporary urban environment and planning strategies.
The workshop presents a set of innovative approaches and methodologies using its own software. At the workshop participants will be invited to use the available toolset to address a specific urban issue where the construction of models for automatic measurement of urban indicators will be part of the urban design process. The workshop is intended for all urban planning professionals who want to improve their skills and knowledge as well as for students or doctoral students in urban planning. The CIAUD will issue a participation certificate equivalent to 3 ECTS credits. The workshop will run from 7 to 12 May 2012 and the seminar will be held on May 11, 2012 in FAUTL.The seminar and workshop program can be found attached ora t the website: http://www.measurb.org/en/home.html We thank in advance for the dissemination of this event to whom might be interested.

Measuring urbanity…
ber of mesh vertices is defined as (precision_+1)^2.So if you would like to have its beam, diffuse and ground-reflected components as well, that means 3 * 8760 values per single point.Example: if you set your precision_ input to 20, the number of values would be a couple of millions:
(20+1)^2 * 8760 * 3 = 11 589 480 hourly values
Check the attached definition below. The outputs that you need are: "Ebeam", "Ediffuse", "Eground".They contain annual hourly values for each tilt and azimuth combination (that's what upper mesh vertices represent) in a data tree.…
imilar topic with a Windows 10 user, which successfully fixed this issue. If you are tiny little patient, I think we can try the same steps in your Windows 7 case. For start, try these three steps:1) Close Rhino. Restart your PC. 2) Once the PC boots up, double click on the "regMapWinGIS.cmd" file in "MapWinGIS" installation folder.3) When it closes the Command Prompt window it opened, try running Rhino, Grasshopper and drop the "Gismo Gismo" component on the canvas (Grasshopper working area). If this does not help (you get the same COM class factory CLSID error message coming out from the "Gismo Gismo" component), then try the following steps, one by one:
1) Close Grasshopper and Rhino2) Run the Revo Uninstaller Pro and uninstall your MapWinGIS application along with removing all the leftovers from the registry. You can download 30 days trial version of it from here. Here is a youtube example of a bit older Revo Uninstaller. But the important part is that is shows how registry leftovers are removed.3) Restart your PC, and once it boots again, make sure that you are logged in as an Adminstrator!4) In your Start menu's search box type: "UAC", which will find your User Account Control Settings. Click on it, and a new window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".5) Turn off your Antivirus, which ever it is.6) Download the 64 bit version of v4.9.4.2 MapWinGIS.7) Right click on downloaded MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file, and choose "Properties". If there is "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".8) Left double click on MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file and install it to "C:\dev\MapWinGIS" folder. Choose "Full installation" during installation process!9) In your Start menu's search box type: "CMD". Once the "Command prompt" appears do not left click on it! Instead right click on it, and choose "Run as Administrator".10) A command prompt window will open. Type the following command:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /u /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
If command does not result in an error message, then type this one afterwards:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
11) If no error appeared again, then open your Rhino and Grasshopper and check what "Gismo Gismo" component prints from its "readMe!" output. If errors appeared, please post their screenshots. Thank you in advance.
Please accept my apologies for the large number of steps. Some of them are quite simple actually (click on this, download that...).…

s the "Surface Populating" definition: I manage to populate my geometry over the surface, but after I bake it, I have to delete the boxes that define my components limits as well! Is there any way of populating and baking only the chosen component, without having to delete the boxes afterwards?
Secondly:
Basically: I am trying to cover a surface with two types of components [ an open one and a closed one] , which will be proliferated over my tubular surface according to the main sunlight direction.
1. I introduce the surface component.
2. I use "Divide Interval2" in order to have division into U and V.
3. i generate the target boxes [ "surfaceBox"] .
4. I use "Isotrim" ( same intervals) and "BRepArea" to find centroid of each area.
5. My "Curve" component introduces sun angle, with its "End Points".
6. I use "Vector 2Pt" to specify sun-light direction.
7. I want to measure the angle between sun-light and the surface normals, at the position of each component; after generating the centre points, I need the normals of each centre point to get the surface's points' UV, and "Evaluate" the srf at points.
8."Angle" and "Vector" components: I use them in order to evaluate the angle between the sun direction and the srf.
9. I convert this angle to degree by using a "Function" [ to see if the angle is bigger from the max.angle or not...]
10. Function "x,y" gives me boolean data.
11. Data become "Dispatch"ed...
12. Two "Morph" components , each one linked to one part of the "Dispatch" data, generate "closed" and "open" components over the srf.
The result should have been different types of components, based on the surface's curvature, diraction and sun-light direction...
I do not understand where the mistake is in this definition...
Thx in advance1

hem. Now I need to search through the original points that comprise the voronoi diagram and replace them with the new averaged points. I need to do this while still preserving the logic of the old data tree which is comprised of {i}j values. In other words each point is grouped into a vornoi cell so that the cells can be created with the polyline component
I believe I have a relatively simple solution, but need help create a python script that searches and replaces values within a data tree.See the psuedo code below:
Psuedo-Code:
For each item(i) in Data tree B (list of index values points to be replaced grouped into a data tree corresponding to the new point) find the corresponding integer in Data tree C (list of points grouped around {i;j} values)Then replace the integer in Data Tree C with the key value (the data tree path) that corresponds to the item from Data tree B that is replacing the item from Data tree CFor example:Data Tree B{14}(0)2(1)3(2)6(3)11(4)13(5)14Data Tree C{0;1}(0)2(1)3(2)6Output:Data Tree {0;1}(0){14}(1){14}(2){14}
List A - Single point (New Point) with Data Tree/Key value corresponding to group of points it will replace ( List B)
List B-list of index values of flattened voronoi point list with Data Tree/Key Value corresponding to List A - in other words these are all the points I need to replace with the point in List A
List C-list of index values of flattened voronoi point list with Data Tree/Key Value corresponding to {i}j values necessary to re-create voronoi cells with the polyline component
Once this is done I can use the Output and the new Points in List A to replace the set of old points in the original voronoi diagram with the new set up reduced points.
If there is another way to achieve the goal of eliminating small edges of a vorononi diagram, I'm open to suggestions.

o use these extensions in order to integrate numerous tools for analysis and simulation in the architectural process.
This course aims to develop a link between the virtual and the real context model through structural or environmental simulations, using other software or plug-ins dedicated. Through this link the virtual model receives physical properties that can further modify and adapt the initial model. This creates feedback loops that can optimize the design to provide an object responsive to environmental conditions.

hat cross that one section?
What about the other 54 sections of the large surface?
Three of the ten vectors created from those lines go in opposite directions - so how useful is their average ('Avr')? Maybe that's why...
You want to subdivide ('SubSrf') this one section (of 55 total on the larger surface) and find the line segments (which become vectors) that cross each sub-section?
Is this correct so far?
By the way, in the second part of your code on the right, you are using 'VRot (Rotate a vector)' to rotate a line - that you created from a vector; probably could be simpler?…
