Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I am a beginner in grasshopper with many woes. I am trying to repeat a 3d module on a grid, however, I don't want the grid cells to be the same size. Is there any way to irregulate the grid or divide the cells in the grid? Furthermore, I have a 3d object made of 8 points connected by 4 surfaces. I have tried duplicating in many attempts as well as the grid attempt. The problem I'm finding is that only one point on the 3d object is moving and the rest isn't.

My side question is if there is any way to extrude a rectangular but not just in the z direction but tapered.

Thanks! ^_^

Hi Tiffany,

The attached script should help get you started, at least with the uneven spacing of a grid ...

More than one way to achieve this of course, but here's one example.

One more thing regarding the tapered extrusion.  One way to look at that would be to move a surface along the Z axis, and scale it down a bit, and the loft between the two surfaces ...

Example also attached.

You may want to post your file, as it would be easier to understand your other question by having a look first hand ...

cheers,

n

Geez Nick,

You make it seem so easy. I'm jealous =P. Thanks for the script. It helped a lot. ^_^
