Closest Point on surface is pulling only to surface edges

Hi everyone.

I am trying to divide up a polysurface using sections, and then remap the section points back to the surfaces to generate an even grid. But when I use the closest point component, my points are being pulled only to the edges of the surface. Ive mapped the paths and the surface + points each match correctly. Any ideas on what is going wrong? I have attached the two files.

Ok, for anyone who might be interested - The problem occurred because there was one path missing from the points list {35} which did not return a solution within the intersection component. I fixed this by creating a null item on a branch {35} and then the closest point component worked. Does anyone know how to control this parametrically? e.g. check one tree structure which might go 0->10 with another one which is maybe 0,1,2,3,4, 6,7,8,9,10 and produce a null branch where something is missing?
