Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

i am new to grasshopper and i am currently working on a project influenced by sound and the audio spectrum. has anyone else delt with this in the past, or can anyone point me in the right direction.

hi will,

i will start a project in the near future wich has the same topic. in the moment i make a research about audio influenced with architecture. i think i saw a post in the old forum but i did not find it anymore.
do you have any results or solution to make it real with grasshopper.

maybe we can share some ideas.

I do remember seeing something in the previous google group, but Im a bit lazy to dig out the link.

Moreover, GH is a lot more capable now, so there is the possibility of circumventing scripting altogether if you like. For starters, if you could find something that converts the decibel levels in your file to a textual log (I think there are quite a few tools to do that), you can use the file reader component to get that info to GH.. and then use those numbers any which way you like.

in case you don't want to use grasshopper for that, do it in studio max. It has a listener which works in real time. so basically it plays the music or sound you want, and according to the transformations you linked to your geometry, it starts doing a lot of crazy stuff.
