algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hey guys!

i m actually doing a project in iceland. there are a lot of windforces. it would be interssting to analize them.

do you have an idea how to do this? are there any definitions or maybe better programs to do this?

would be nice if you could help me!

cheeres from iceland

I wandered what the study of 'odynamics' was!

What do you wish to do? e.g. Have live data in GH. Display historical measurements in a model. Try and model something with CFD, Ranse, Panel method etc.

i want to to analyse a model. are there a lot of turbulences for example. or the wind forces on the faces...
do you know a good cfd program? maybe for free and esay to use?

This looks promising:

thanks! im just trying ecotect... works  quite well!
is it possible to analyse wind with ecotect?
yes!

I don't have a tremendous amount of experience with ecotect, but i don't think it can do the CFD analysis.  It can "Read" and visually represent data that has been processed by another CFD application, but it can't process it.

With that said, does anyone know of any good CFD applications for analyzing wind?

yes thats right... it was just a sample...
i heard solidworks is able to do this. ill try it...

yep...solidworks is pretty much the standard for parametric modeling of mechanical part in a lot of companies..and it does motion simulations as well as cfd

its worth notice that rhino can import/export solidworks parts...it works pretty well....and from the cfd analysis you could do a lot with the data in grasshopper :)

i like modelling with rhino and grasshopper
HOWEVER for multi part models how can i convert the rhino model into solidworks as ASSEMBLY

I can run analysis only for assembly - i cannot simply drag & drop all the parts into solidworks.

And if the model is composed of maaanny parts it would be torture to define mate relationships once again...
