algorithmic modeling for Rhino

this folding based on a folding pattern by Ron Resch is not accurate in terms of the reaction/bending of the overall structure. the single elements usually create a bending of the whole pattern. when folding angle = 0 or 90 the pattern is not bent / it is even, ...otherwise it would create sort of a dome.

if its a molecule structure, it can be strong and flexible.
if its a architecture element, it can be dynamic sun-shading or waterproof layer for curve surfaces.

interesting question... certain folding angles would lead to a dome structure. i guess if you want to map this, all modeuls need to be adaptive and the local module dimensions should result from the curved the surface / mesh then.. so every module would have same structural pattern but with different dimensions... i guess it would be like an adaptive pattern/module mapped onto a triangulated surface or something like that...thanks for the comment(s)
