Have you ever thought about applying Kangaroo to flattening metal pressed parts? There's commercial software called VISI which can do this and appears to use some sort of mesh relaxation... There's simple unfolding of straight bends but then there's more complex applications when the pressed parts have 3d surfaces. One of the challenges of press tool manufacture is to work out what the initial blanking punch will be for a flattened component that is then to be pressed to a specific shape... Looks like Kangaroo could do this!

A rubber chicken might have been more adequate than an elephant... But we are arguing semantics...  You gurus make me feel like such a beginner. ;)

only adequate reaction: wow

the deformations of the elephant looks really realistic -even in the small details!
