Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

I am working on Kangaroo and weaverbird to generate these random dome structures.

The first step is easy enough, getting random points from pop2d to form a delaunay mesh then let it form caternary structures and wbThickened, but is there a more elegant way to cut holes into the form then culling faces before kicking in the Kangaroo (I did this by distance of faces from three points)? Or perhaps perform further modifications to the holes?

As you can see from the flat to caternary transformation, flaps are left behind where some mesh faces haven't been culled (I didn't tweak each hole individually, so the right one is smooth and the left is choppy).

Any ideas?

Thanks!
