Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I would like to ask You for help in - I believe - a bit different project, than discussed on this forum every day.

I am new to Rhino and Grashopper/Ladybug environment so please - be patient and forgive me if further matter sounds childish.

Target: I want to calculate amount of solar energy absorbed by a wineyard plot througout the vegetative season for each cell of a mesh. The secondary items are: to visualize sunpaths through the season and evaluate potential irradiance losses due to proximity of a quite big orchard on the plot next to mine.

Input: mesh (cell size approx. 10x10m) based on data captured with drone and geolocation data.

Things to work out:

  • what other inputs are required to perform irradiance, sunpath and shadows analyses?
  • how should the algorythm for wach case look like? Did somebody tried to perform similar analyses already (I tried to dig through entire forum but I haven't found it - since I am not an engineer maybe missed it)?
  • How to build such algorithm? Are there any detailed tutorials or components that i could investigate and build my own one nased on this?

    Will appreciate any help!
