Flasher origami

Related to two previous posts (thank you for the solutions) and this post

I am using Kangaroo to simulate the folding of this shape

The folding pattern (which I think I have managed to generate) is shown here, as well as the folded version.

I am pretty sure this is not rigid foldable (even when more circumferential fold lines are added). I've attached my best attempt at simulating this, using only the folding angle as the driving force.

Any suggestion on how to make the simulation look more like the real folding in the video would be great!
