Harvesting jpg data for synchronization with WGS84 coordinate locations

Hey All,

I have a question regarding extracting file attributes from a series of jpgs. I recently went on a road trip, tracking the route with galileo offline maps, which can then be exported as a collection of data including location (lat/long as WGS84), altitude, speed, time, and various other vector data.

What I am curious about now is if I can synchronize my photos with the route taken - take the time stamp from each photo and "geotag" it with the proper location on the route, effectively documenting the most photogenic portions of my trek.

Does anybody know of plugins that can read the properties data of files, rather than simply the image content? Time stamp, exposure, etc. If not, is there a way this could be done via c# or vb?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated! FYI attached is a low-res map of the trek, using a combination of elk for the base content (thanks tim logan!) and importing the relevant galileo maps data via gHowl.

Thanks!

Alex
