algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys, might be a really simple question but I was wondering if I had a square grid, how can I change the height of each of the squares within the grid in reference to an image sampler (where black/white) controls the height of each. I also want to be able to have number sliders to control these values. Is that possible?

Cheers

I was looking at something like this where the squares in the grid are extruded differently

Thanks Hyungsoo! Always on point with answering :)
I used part of your definition and applied it to my own. I have rotating blocks and essentially want to be able to use an image sampler to create different sized offsets within them so they have different sized holes. I managed to extract the faces and now want to be able to join the faces together (as seen in image 1)

I was thinking of finding the curve of the outer box, and then lofting it with the other.

Then finding the curve of the smaller box and lofting it with the smaller too.

After that, solid differencing them to create the hole. However, when finding the curves from list item went wrong because item 0 would mistaken one the outer curve of one shape with the inner. (image 2)

Is there a way to join the faces together to make a solid?

Hey Jay.

If you try to use and modify someone's definition, you should at least understand the basic principle of it.

See red group. Best.
