Simply Supported Beam Kangaroo

I've built a simple kangaroo model to replicate a linear static analysis of a simply supported beam with either a UDL or a concentrated load at mid-span.

This relies on the 'Angle' component to represent the flexural stiffness of the beam. However, the results I get from the kangaroo analysis consistently indicate deflections greater than what we would expect.

The relevant grasshopper file is attached. I get the same error on results from the previous build of Kangaroo. Perhaps there is something I don't understand?
