Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I have posted this a a simple example for sweeping surfaces other than pipes, along a series of members. In this case the geometry is part of steelwork cross bracing.

  • I'm unsure about the differences between of PFrame or Pframes. They allow the specifying of local axes and the subsequent member orientation
  • The YZ plane refers to the plane that the surface (Equal angle) is drawn in. It is also centred on the surfaces local origin 0,0
  • I've flipped the bottom chord to illustrate, centroid orientation issues
  • Please note that the centroid has been used, a subsequent shift is required to place the angles back to back for geometric correctness (detailing)

Comments welcome, particularly around selecting more than one component, lets say to switch off preview for example.
