Loft hexagonal grid between two surfaces and unroll into flat strips for laser cutting...

Hi everyone,

Wondering if you could help me at all... Only been using grasshopper for a couple of weeks now but can't quite figure out how to do a couple of things.

I am attempting to construct a 'pavilion' from a honeycomb-type structure by folding strips of card and fixing them together in a similar way to this project: Matsys Honeycomb Morphologies

The two problems I am currently coming across are:

1 - by creating two surfaces, applying a hexagonal grid to each and then lofting between them I am able to obtain the honeycomb structure I am after... However if I attempt to unroll these in Rhino the faces overlap as they are slightly curved (see jpeg).

2 - the next step is to then split this surface into strips (as seen in the Matsys Morphologies link given above), but I am not sure what tool to use to divide this surface up in the correct way. I've attached an image attempting to describe how I would like the splits diving. Do I need to look into HoopSnake possibly?

Thanks for your help in advance!

An example of how I want to split the strips - sorry uploaded it incorrectly before.
