Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello every one

recently I started a project as a part of my master program which aims to design a site and accommodate buildings on a cemetery site.

some areas of site should remain intact and some parts are free to design.

design must incorporate infrastructures and public areas to gentrify the low price lands around the cemetery .

I started working with flow lines to get a result but systematically don't have a clue of any approach .

so please guide me kindly to realize a true form finding process, of course any help offered will be acknowledged to your name at the end of my work.

looking forward to hear from you all.

you first have to start with a sketch what are your parameters. Wind? rain? sun? people? The site?
Look at "BIG" they make that kind of sketches.

And then you can make a tool for it(grasshopper tool). It can be simple tool is in 2d with colours  or in 3d.

Hi Hooman,

Nice video to watch for begining

Also good to read question 3 on page 30! Interview with David Rutten!

hello thanks for your quick response

the reason I ask for help is that it's been a while since I am thinking of inserting these factors into my design and I have no clue how to do so!

the project which I was assigned to undertake as my master design studio II project is located on an old cemetery site.

excluding the decisive factors as climate which I decide to use honey bee and lady bug for tham as well as ecotect ; there are main concerns about keeping gave site intact plus integrating a circulation efficient for funeral ceremony and defining axes and their intersections to create a a form centralizing them.

its a challenging act and I really appreciate any help

thanks again for your kind response

looking forward to hear from you

When you have the parameters you want to look into i could take a look. You don't realy need difficult tools to make something you want, you can also work with mathematics. like a grave has to be 2 meter from each other. Or you can use existing plans and search a common. or the terrain of your site. Like the path has the have a slope of maximaal 2 procent and so on that could be a start. Or where do you enter the cemetery, where would you put common functions. In my master project i used grasshopper to calculate energy loss and so on.

hello there

exactly what i need !!!!

My main goal is to redefine( grid deformity based on influential factors)  the pattern of graves into a building .

as my supervisor is a landscape architect I decide to create a Garden in the existing cemetery environment which suffers from lack of any appropriate green area and as Iranian created OLD GARDENS = PARDIS (paradise) which were axial vegetation along a defined axis as a passage incorporating elements of design reaching a goal ( in my design axis intersections which forms the building ) please take look at the address and the me you ideas .

did you saw the site that I posted ??

any ideas about the algorithm ??

I also upload the rhino file that just started working on.
