algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys,
I’ve been using Grasshopper for a while (off and on 2-3 years in architecture school) but this is my first post on here. I normally use grasshopper in conjunction with the actual rhino interface sometimes manually drawing geometry and entering them into grasshopper for architectural modelling.
I have a question about planar surfaces.
Is there any way I can turn a non planar surface – one that has been formed by lofting two curves together – into a series of planar surfaces. I essentially want to rebuild my non-planar surfaces as a series of polygons – im assuming it can be done quite easily with triangulation although im not sure how, But is it possible to do it with a 4 sided polygon ie Rectangle/square.
Does anyone know of how I could script a command as explained?
Normally when I cannot figure it out I would do something like this manually – especially if I was going to triangulate it, but as I have almost 30 different instances of this in my model it would take an unreasonable amount of time to do more than 1-2 manually I would think.
Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks Heaps,
James
