Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I am trying to create a tower which is solar responsive.

Now i have created a parametric tower with floors which rotate amongst a centre point. I can change the rotation with a slider.

What i am trying to accomplish is to let the floors individualy rotate, so that the biggest surface of the facade is following the sun. I don't know how i can do that?

Can i let the sun be an attractor point and then let the facade follow the point?

And how can i easily get the sun in the grasshopper file. i am now trying with Heliotrope plug-in.

I have attached my grasshopper and rhino files

Hope anyone can help me!

Henk,

See attached. Should be easy enough to build off of.

Hi Nick!

Thanks a lot! it is really helpfull!

I am playing a bit with the building to adapt to the sun.

My question is now, the sun doesn't move along the arc when changing the sliders.

I added a slider for the hour. I think the sun has to follow the arc when the hour changes.

Maybe i am doing something wrong, but it doesn't work.

Another question, from the bound component, to divide the solararc, does it have to be connected to something? Because now it isn't.

Maybe it is really easy but i am just starting to use grasshopper ;)

Thanks!
